Databases
A database is a collection of information (usually articles) that you can search. These articles can come from many places, including journals, magazines, and newspapers. You can usually search by subject (a topic), author, or title, or a combination. Ask at the desk in the library if you'd like help searching a database.

General
Gale Opposing Viewpoints in Context: This premier online resource covers today’s hottest social issues, from capital punishment to immigration, to violent video games.
Science/Health
Science Reference Center: A comprehensive research database containing full text for nearly 640 science encyclopedias, reference books, periodicals, etc.
Gale Science in Context: Millions of full-text articles that include national and global publications, 200+ science experiments, 300+ interactive simulations, other multimedia, and top reference content. Updated daily. Offers over 600 pages on topics across the curriculum, covering biology, chemistry, earth and environmental science, physics, and more.
History
Gale U.S. History in Context: Offers information on themes, events, individuals, and periods of U.S. History from Colonial times to the present in full text articles from 110 journals and 30 reference books.
Gale World History in Context: From Ancient Europe to Latin America, this database gives full text articles from 27 references and 110 journals, primary sources, images, maps, and charts.
Culture Grams: Easy-to-use site with cultural reports for more than 200 countries with maps and statistics; informative pages on the 50 U.S. states; searchable photo gallery from around the world; famous people index listed by country; and recipe collections from every country in CultureGrams.

EBSCO Literary Reference Center: Detailed information on the most studied authors and their works from a comprehensive database that combines information from over 1,000 books and monographs, major literary encyclopedias and reference works, and hundreds of literary journals.
NoveList Plus: An online guide to thousands of fiction and nonfiction titles; search by Author, Title, Series and Key Word. Also gives book recommendations.
New York Times Book Reviews: Current book reviews by the editors of the New York Times; searchable by title or keyword. Also includes author profiles, Best Seller lists, blogs and more.
Gale's Literary Index: Provides quick and easy access to author and title listings from over 130 literature products from Gale and other publishers.
Newspapers/Encyclopedias
Newspaper Source Plus: Cover-to-cover full text for 35 national & international newspapers, and selective full text for more than 375 U.S. newspapers. Full text television & radio news transcripts also provided.
Brittanica Online: Search reference articles, journals and magazines, the Web's Best Sites, multimedia, and curriculum content for grades 9-12.
